L'indicatif régional 979 est un indicatif régional du plan de numérotation nord-américain (NANP) pour l' État américain du Texas . La zone du plan de numérotation comprend la région qui suit généralement le fleuve Brazos et qui se trouve entre les zones métropolitaines d'Austin et de Houston et ses communautés environnantes, s'étendant du sud de Waco jusqu'à la côte du Golfe. Il a été créé le 13 février 2000, à partir d'une scission de l'indicatif régional 409 .
